How to play

  • Connect five of your stones first, horizontally, vertically, or diagonally, on a 15×15 board to win. (Freestyle rules: six or more also wins.)
  • Choose a difficulty each round, then flip a coin to decide black or white. Black goes first.
  • Click an intersection to place a stone. On a phone, tap once to preview a spot, then tap the same spot again to place it.
  • Keyboard: Arrow keysto move, and Space·Enterto place a stone. On Easy, you can undo once per game.

10-Round Challenge · Weekly Leaderboard

  • Earn points for each win over 10 rounds: Easy 1 · Normal 3 · Hard 5. Up to 50 points!
  • Ties go to the player with the shorter total thinking time on their turns. (Grey's thinking time doesn't count.)
  • Finish all 10 rounds and place in the top 20 to submit a name. No sign-up needed.

How does Grey play?

  • Easy: He makes mistakes sometimes. Great for learning Gomoku.
  • Normal: He always blocks me when I try to make five.
  • Hard: He looks two moves ahead and aims for unstoppable attacks (4-3, 3-3). But you must play each move within 10 seconds , or you lose that round on time.
  • If you're one move from five, Grey goes “!” in surprise.

No. It's freestyle, so both black and white can play freely. A coin flip fairly decides who gets black or white.

It resets every Monday at midnight (Korea time). The all-time leaderboard stays up.
